Give your child or yourself the gift of a life-long love of music by learning to play the violin! I am looking forward to sharing the adventure with you.

Greetings! I teach violin lessons from my home near Poulsbo, easily accessible from the rest of Kitsap County via Highway 3.

I began my own classical violin studies at age 8 in Seattle and am an avid orchestral and chamber musician. I also enjoy playing bluegrass music on violin and mandolin, improvising with contemporary ensembles on my electric violin, and am learning to play folk harp. I am a violinist in the Bremerton Symphony and past member of the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, the Portage Bay Philharmonic, the Washington University Symphony, the Seattle Youth Symphony and award-winning Roosevelt High School Chamber Orchestra. I have directed adult choirs and make occasional presentations on the violin to elementary students. I love all kinds of music and try to communicate my enthusiasm for learning to my students!

My students enjoy several opportunities each year to participate in fun events like the Kitsap Young Musicians Festival, Kitsap Music Teachers Association Music Carnival, Christmas carol ensembles, studio parties and Washington State MTA Musicianship Exams. I encourage my students to prepare to join local ensembles like school orchestras, the Bremerton Symphony Orchestra or Youth Orchestra for maximum application and enjoyment of the skills they attain in private lessons. Reviews:

"Jane's students were very well prepared, very fluent in their playing. All played with excellent rhythm, intonation in general, attention to the style of each piece and the details in the music. Jane is an excellent, obviously well-trained teacher. I marveled especially at what some of the younger students were able to play." ~ J. Donnellan, WSMTA Strings Adjudicator 2012
